Global Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shocked fans by pulling out of 50 Cent’s highly anticipated London concert, where he was set to share the stage with R&B legend Mary J. Blige.

The event, a highlight of 50 Cent’s Legacy Tour, is scheduled for July 3 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the UK.

Davido dropped the bombshell on Saturday, June 14, 2025, through a candid post on his Instagram Stories.

He clarified that his exit wasn’t linked to low ticket demand but stemmed from “uncompromising standards for artistic excellence.”

“While ticket sales have been phenomenal and fan energy unmatched, critical discrepancies in production logistics have undermined the caliber of performance I demand,” Davido revealed. “Despite repeated efforts, these gaps persist.”

His statement continued: “It pains me to step away, but effective immediately, I won’t be gracing the Tottenham Hotspur stage on July 3rd. The show goes on—just without my presence.”

The award-winning artist behind hits like ‘Unavailable’ stressed his team’s exhaustive preparations to meet fan expectations.

“For weeks, we’ve collaborated in good faith with The Neto Future Group and @iconicpresents to align on a world-class production,”
he noted.

“This withdrawal isn’t about numbers—it’s about upholding the integrity of African music on global platforms. My loyalty lies with the fans and the culture we’re elevating,”
Davido affirmed.

He quickly shifted focus to upcoming performances, teasing future appearances.

“London, this isn’t goodbye—just ‘see you later.’ My summer tour rolls on! Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, and the US—get ready! The 5ive movement continues. Africa’s voice will be heard,”
he declared.
