On Thursday, July 3, former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp shared his grief following the tragic deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother André.
Klopp described the loss of both talented footballers as heartbreaking.
Reports indicate that Jota and Andre were involved in a fatal car crash early Thursday in Spain.
In an Instagram post, Klopp wrote: ”I am devastated by the news of Diogo and his brother André’s passing.”
The German coach praised Jota as an “exceptional player” and remembered him as a “loyal friend and devoted father.”
Klopp emphasized how much Jota would be missed and offered his sympathies to Jota’s wife Rute and their family.
Klopp managed Jota during his tenure at Liverpool after acquiring the Portuguese forward from Wolves in 2020.
