The 2025 BET Awards lit up Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater last Monday, with comedian Kevin Hart keeping the energy high as host. The star-studded night celebrated the best in music, film, and sports, delivering unforgettable moments.
Kendrick Lamar dominated the evening, sweeping multiple awards for his critically acclaimed sixth studio album, *GNX*, which dropped last November. The rap icon took home Album of the Year, Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, and Video of the Year for his explosive track *”Not Like Us.”* He also snagged Best Collaboration alongside SZA for *”Luther”* and tied for Video Director of the Year with longtime creative partner Dave Free.
SZA continued her winning streak, securing Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, while Chris Brown claimed Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. Rising star Doechii earned Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, and Leon Thomas was crowned Best New Artist. In the acting categories, legends Denzel Washington and Cynthia Erivo triumphed as Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively.
