Controversial broadcaster Daddy Freeze has disclosed that he once commanded a staggering N1.5m per event as a high-demand event host.
But his lucrative gigs vanished overnight when he began publicly challenging Nigerian religious leaders.
The outspoken media figure shared this revelation during a candid conversation with Stephen Akintayo on the Leadership podcast.
Recalling his dramatic career shift, Freeze revealed he was earning top naira when the dollar exchange rate stood at just N150.
“When I started calling out Nigerian pastors, my entire MC business collapsed instantly. For two brutal years, I had zero bookings – gone. My premium rates used to fetch me N1.5m per event.
“At that price point, I’d land $10,000 gigs every couple months. That’s $60,000 yearly from MC work alone – all vanished. Not a single hosting job since 2019.
“One client actually paid upfront recently, but when the event poster circulated, public backlash forced cancellation. The organizer literally told me ‘keep the deposit’ because attendees were threatening to boycott.”
