Bella Shmurda, the rising Afrobeat sensation, has opened up about his alternate calling—preaching or motivational speaking—if his music career hadn’t taken off.
The artist shared this revelation in an engaging chat on Joey Akan’s acclaimed Afrobeats Intelligence podcast.
Reflecting on his journey, he stated, “Spirituality is in everyone—it just needs to be awakened. If music hadn’t chosen me, I’d probably be inspiring crowds as a preacher or motivational speaker. That’s my true calling, and I weave it into every song I create.
“Motivation comes naturally to me. I connect with people on a profound level—that’s my gift. That’s why I’m here, and my music will always reflect that essence.
“It’s non-negotiable—spirituality fuels my creativity. When I write, it must resonate. Even in my voice, you can hear it.”
