Habeeb Okikiola, the outspoken Nigerian musician better known as Portable, has opened up about his brief meeting with Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.
In a viral video posted on his social media, the ‘Zazu’ hitmaker recounted the encounter, expressing his surprise at the former Anambra governor’s modest travel choice.
Portable revealed that while he was seated in first class, Obi was flying economy—a detail that left him stunned. He humorously contrasted the experience with what he believes would have happened if he had met President Bola Tinubu instead.
“When I met Peter Obi, all I got was a handshake,” he said. “I was in first class, and he was in economy. If it were Tinubu, trust me, I would’ve walked away with bundles!”
