Portugal’s skipper, Cristiano Ronaldo, has marked his triumph in the UEFA Nations League (UNL) final this Sunday.
The victory was secured as Portugal overcame Spain to clinch the championship.
The 40-year-old star shared that his kids will now look up to him after witnessing him guide Portugal past Spain in the Nations League final held at Munich’s Allianz Arena.
The ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid ace opened up during his post-match press conference.
“My children are Spanish, and they tease me at home, joking — ‘the trophy belongs to Spain’,” Ronaldo revealed, as noted by Madrid Zone.
“After seeing their father defeat Spain, they’ll definitely show more respect (laughs),” he quipped.
Ronaldo contributed with a goal as the game finished 2-2 after extra time.
Portugal emerged victorious 5-3 in penalties, aided by Alvaro Morata’s missed attempt.
