Renowned Nigerian wrestler Odunayo Adekuoroye and her spouse, Oladimeji Iyanda, have celebrated the birth of their first child.
The three-time Commonwealth gold medalist shared the happy news on Instagram, posting a collection of maternity photos.
In her post, Adekuoroye thanked God for their new arrival. While she kept the exact birth date and baby’s gender private, she requested prayers as they begin their parenting journey.
“To my dear supporters, I’m delighted to share that I’ve entered the wonderful world of motherhood. Our little one arrived in grand style, bringing endless happiness to our lives,” she expressed.
“This new phase has been incredibly meaningful, and I’m thankful for the divine blessings we’ve received. We appreciate your prayers as we cherish this special time in our lives.”
The 31-year-old athlete, who wed Iyanda in 2022, remains one of Nigeria’s most accomplished wrestlers, having competed in Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, African Games, and numerous continental tournaments.
Throughout her distinguished career, she has collected eight gold medals, one silver, and four bronze medals across various championships.
