Renowned Nigerian entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, famously called Charly Boy, has openly rejected the newly formed coalition of opposition leaders plotting to challenge President Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Reports indicate that influential figures from the Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, Social Democratic Party, and discontented APC members have united under the banner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to overthrow the current administration.
The movement, spearheaded by ex-Senate President David Mark, has sparked mixed reactions nationwide—fueling hope among some while raising eyebrows among others.
Activist Omoyele Sowore recently distanced himself from the alliance, branding its members as “corrupt.” Echoing this sentiment, Charly Boy took to social media, calling out the coalition’s motives.
In a fiery Facebook post, he dismissed the group as recycled politicians disguising their ambitions, stating, “The same faces that ruined Nigeria are now preaching redemption.”
He questioned their intentions: “Is this truly about saving Nigeria or just swapping seats with their rivals?”
“Political alliances don’t guarantee progress. Sometimes, it’s just wolves wearing new agbada.
“Are they chanting ‘enough is enough’ because they’ve reformed—or because power slipped from their grasp?
“Nigeria doesn’t need reshuffled pawns. We demand transformative leaders with courage, clarity, and fresh ideals. 2027 shouldn’t be about vengeance—it must be about liberation,” he declared.
