Victor Osimhen has clinched the Turkish Cup.

The striker netted twice on Wednesday evening, breaking the single-season record for most goals by a foreign player in Turkish football and guiding Istanbul’s powerhouse to a 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor.

Osimhen, who had already scored 33 goals this season, required two more to surpass Mario Jardel’s 34-goal milestone from the 2000/01 campaign.

He achieved exactly that, finding the net in the 46th and 63rd minutes to reach 35 goals across all competitions, securing Galatasaray their 19th Turkish Cup title—a national record.

Baris Yilmaz had given Galatasaray an early lead in the fifth minute, finishing off a clever assist from Yunus Akgun.

But the spotlight belonged to Osimhen. His first strike came shortly after halftime—a fierce low drive from the edge of the box into the bottom corner.

His second was even more spectacular—a quick turn inside the penalty area followed by a curling shot into the top corner.

With 35 goals in 38 appearances, Osimhen has now surpassed Brazil’s Mario Jardel on Galatasaray’s all-time foreign scorers list.

Only seven other foreign players have scored more for the club, with Romania’s Gheorghe Hagi still leading the tally at 72.

Galatasaray can secure a domestic double with a win over Kayserispor on Sunday, which would hand them their 25th league title. This would mark the club’s fourth double, last accomplished in the 1998–99 season.
