President Bola Tinubu recently reunited with his childhood friend and former Chicago neighbor, Alex, during a high-profile event in Abuja.
Reflecting on their shared past, Tinubu expressed amazement at how their lives had diverged—one becoming Nigeria’s leader, the other a thriving entrepreneur from Belarus.
The emotional reunion occurred at the unveiling of 2,000 tractors and agricultural machinery as part of the Federal Government’s Agricultural Mechanization Initiative.
With visible nostalgia, the President recalled their school days in Chicago, never imagining their future successes.
“Alex and I were inseparable back in Chicago—classmates, neighbors, dreamers,” Tinubu shared with the audience.
“Life has taken us on incredible journeys—from those humble beginnings to where we stand today. It’s truly remarkable.”
“This agricultural initiative represents our commitment to transforming Nigeria’s food security landscape,” he continued.
“The Ministry of Agriculture deserves full recognition for their visionary work in stabilizing our nation’s food systems.”
